The greatest sprinters of all time

This is a list of the all time greatest sprinters in my opinion. I have based this list on not only their records and achievements but in some cases how many medals they won in one tournament or what their victory meant for others.

5. Micheal Johnson

Michael Johnson is tied with Carl Lewis for the second most amount of medals won by a sprinter at the world Championships winning eight. He used to hold the world record in the 200m (19.32s), 300m (30.85s) and in the 400m (43.18s).

4. Jesse Owens

Jesse Owens representing the USA at the 1936 Berlin Olympics won four gold medals in the 100m, 200m, long jump and 4x100m events. This alone is an incredible achievement but added on is the fact this was an all out victory, proving Hitler's belief of Aryan supremacy to be false.

3. Yohan Blake/Tyson Gay

I have chosen to put these two sprinters side by side as they both have the second fastest time in the 100m (9.69s).

2. Wayde Van Neikirk

Van Neikirk is and incredible South African athlete who currently hold the world record in the 300m (30.81s) and in the 400m ( 43.03s). He has also gone sub ten seconds in the 100m in time of 9.94s and sub 20 seconds in the 200m in 19.84 seconds.

1. Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt is known to all to be the fastest man in the world. He has the world record in the 100m (9.58s) and the world record in the 200m (19.19s).
