Where do top sprinters come from

One of the ways in which you can classify truly great sprinters and separate them from the rest is through the 10 second mark. Few have ever broken ten seconds on the 100m dash and those who do are given the chance to join the exclusive sub 10 club. This is where all of sprinting's greatest athletes are found.

In order to find out where top sprinters come from I will use a list of all 125 men who have broken 100m in 10 seconds and see in which country they were born.

  1. 52 are American
  2. 18 are Jamaican
  3. 8 of them are from Britain
  4. 7 of them are from Nigeria
  5. 6 of them are from Trinidad and Tobago
  6. 5 of them are from South Africa
  7. 4 of them are from Canada
  8. 3 are from France
  9. 2 are from Ghana
  10. 2 are from Zimbabwe
  11. 2 are from Turkey
  12. 2 are from Qatar
